I held the brush sideways to catch the roughness of the paper and create sparkles in the ocean. Thank you to Birgit O’Connor for teaching me this brushstroke. I used a natural sponge to mask the wave at the base of the rocks and cliffs.

The inspiration for the painting came from a photo I took in September of 2023.
