Watercolor painting can be very intuitive, and I can lose myself in the process very easily and this is a good thing that leads to looser more expressive paintings.

I used more water so my brushstrokes could be from the motion of my whole arm not just my wrist and hand. I also used the side of my brush more.

I have lived near Lake Mendocino for a very long time. Knowing your subject matter very well leads to expertise and spontaneous expression.
