Day 2 #worldwatercolormonth2025: Expresso Jo-ha-kyu

Drinking an expresso is an example of the Japanese concept of Jo-ha-kyu which expresses the power of slowing down, speeding up, and then stopping. The Kanji for Jo-Ha-Kyu is “序破急”. Examining each Kanji character, they are respectively “Preface or Beginning”, “Revelation” and “Suddenness”. Put together, they express the pacing and building up of events to an outcome. Making a cup of coffee or tea and enjoying sipping it is an example of Jo-ha-kyu.
